Coffee quote from The Quote Garden You will need the following to complete this tutorial: VPC_HotMorningCoffee.psp squares.jpg yp_caffeine_gingham.jpg yp_word_art_caffeine.psp The above can be downloaded here Download and extract to a file on your computer then open in PSP and minimise Plugins Filters Unlimited Alien Skin Eye Candy 5 Nature - Smoke Available here under Eye Candy 5 http://www.fleursauvage.be/utilitaire/filtres/filtres.htm Download and extract to your Plugins folder *********** Drag this arrow with you to mark your place in the tutorial ********** INSTRUCTIONS STEP 1 Open all supplies in PSP and minimise Open a new canvas 800 x 600 white background Layers >> Promote Background Layer Layers >> Duplicate STEP 2 In the Materials Palette load foreground with Brown #AF966D and Background with White #FFFFFF Select your Airbrush Tool and use the following settings: Preset = +Default Draw a squiggle on your canvas, like so I started at 100,100 and took it out to 700,100 It doesn't have to be exact Image >> Resize 75% Resize all layers unchecked Adjust >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur (Radius 40) Edit >> Repeat Gaussian Blur STEP 3 Layers >> New Mask Layer>> From Image Select Squares from the drop down list Source Luminance checked Layers >> Merge >> Merge Group Effects >> Texture Effects >> Mosaic Antique Layers >> Merge >> Merge Down STEP 4 Effects >> Plugins >> I.C.Net Software >> Filters Unlimited Edges, Square >> Square Edge 12 STEP 5 Image >> Resize 85% Resize all layers unchecked STEP 6 Effects >> 3D Effects >> Drop Shadow Repeat Drop Shadow changing Vertical and Horizontal Offsets to minus 2 (-2) STEP 7 In the Materials Palette change Foreground Style to Pattern and select yp_caffeine_gingham.jpg from the options Layers >> New Raster Layer Select Flood Fill Tool and fill layer with pattern STEP 8 Repeat STEPS 4 and 6 STEP 9 Layers >> Arrange >> Send to Bottom STEP 10 In the Layer Palette highlight the top Layer (Raster 1) Layers >> Merge >> Merge Visible This is what you should have now STEP 11 Maximise tube VPC_HotMorningCoffee.psp Edit >> Copy Minimise tube Edit >> Paste as New Layer Effects >> Image Effects >> Offset STEP 12 Maximise tube yp_word_art_caffeine.psp Edit >> Copy Minimise tube Edit >> Paste as New Layer Effects >> Image Effects >> Offset STEP 13 Layers >> New Raster Layer Add your name and/or watermark To animate, proceed to STEP 14 If you do not wish to animate, stop here Layers >> Merge >> Merge All Flatten Resize if desired Save as a jpg STEP 14 In the Layer Palette hide Raster 2 and highlight Raster 1 STEP 15 Select the Freehand Selection Tool with the following settings and select the steam above the coffee cup as below Edit >> Clear Selections >> Select None Open Raster 2 STEP 16 In the Layer Palette highlight Raster 1 (coffee cup layer) Layers >> Duplicate twice You should have 3 coffee cup layers Rename these layers Coffee1, Coffee2 and Coffee3 Highlight Coffee1 STEP 17 Select the Freehand Selection Tool same settings as in STEP 15 and make the selection as below STEP 18 In the Layer Palette hide Coffee2 and Coffee3 Make sure Coffee1 is highlighted STEP 19 Effects >> Plugins >> Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Nature >> Smoke Click on the "Settings" tab and select "Large, Steaming Coffee" then click on the "Basic" tab and enter the following settings Click "OK" STEP 20 In the Layer Palette hide Coffee1 and make Coffee2 visible Highlight Coffee2 Effects >> Plugins >> Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Nature >> Smoke Click on the "Random Seed" button then "OK" STEP 21 In the Layer Palette hide Coffee2 and make Coffee3 visible Highlight Coffee3 Effects >> Plugins >> Alien Skin Eye Candy 5: Nature >> Smoke Click on the "Random Seed" button then "OK" Selections >> Select None STEP 22 In the Layer Palette hide Coffee2 and Coffee3 Highlight and make Coffee1 visible Edit >> Copy Merged STEP 23 Open Animation Shop Edit >> Paste >> As New Animation Back to Paint Shop Pro STEP 24 In the Layer Palette hide Coffee1 and Coffee3 Highlight and make Coffee2 visible Edit >> Copy Merged STEP 25 Back to Animation Shop Edit >> Paste >> After Current Frame Back to Paint Shop Pro STEP 26 In the Layer Palette hide Coffee1 and Coffee2 Highlight and make Coffee3 visible Edit >> Copy Merged STEP 27 Back to Animation Shop Edit >> Paste >> After Current Frame Stay in Animation Shop This is what you should have now STEP 28 Edit >> Select All Animation >> Frame Properties Change the Display Time to "25" Check the Animation View >> Animation STEP 29 If you are happy with the animation activate the frames Resize if desired I resized mine to 700 x 525 pixels Animation >> Resize Animation STEP 30 Animation >> Animation Properties Set desired canvas colour (I wanted mine white) Save as a gif I hope you enjoyed this tutorial If you have any questions or would like to show me your result EMAIL ME Return to Tutorials - Page 2
