PORTABLE MAGIC
This tutorial is my own design and any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental.

It was created in Paint Shop Pro 8, but can be realised in other versions.
However, some tool descriptions and locations may vary, but the overall result
should be the same.

You will need the following to complete this tutorial:

Extract to a file on your computer
Open all tubes and images in your PSP workspace and minimise
Place Mask 058.jpg in your Masks folder

STEP 1
Open a new canvas 800 x 600 pixels transparent
In the Materials Palette load Foreground with White #FFFFFF
Flood fill canvas with White
STEP 2
Layer >> New Raster Layer
Selection Tool >> Selection
Custom Selection
STEP 3
Maximise bizarre_bookshop.pspimage
Edit >> Copy
Minimise tube
Edit >> Paste >> Paste into Selection
Do not de-select
STEP 4
Layers >> Load/Save Mask >> Load Mask from Disk
Layers >> Merge >> Merge Group
In the Layer Palette reduce the opacity of Group - Raster 2 to 50%
Selections >> Select None
This is what you should have now
STEP 5
Maximise tube colacao_deskdiary40.psp
Edit >> Copy
Minimise tube
Edit >> Paste >> Paste as New layer
Image >> Resize 65%
All Layers unchecked
With the Selection Tool select text "Tube by Colacao"
Edit >> Clear
Selections >> Select None
With the Move Tool position tube to the right
See finished image for placement
Effects >> 3D Effects >> Drop Shadow
Repeat Drop Shadow changing Vertical and Horizontal Offsets to minus 2 (-2)
STEP 6
Maximise tube yp_wordart_books.psp
Edit >> Copy
Minimise tube
Edit >> Paste >> Paste as New Layer
With the Move tool move tube down
See finished image for placement
STEP 7
Add your name and/or watermark
STEP 8
Layers >> Merge >> Merge Visible
Image >> Resize
Width = 650 pixels, height will adjust automatically
Resize all layers checked
STEP 9
Selection Tool >> Selection
Custom Selection
Edit >> Clear
Effects >> 3D Effects >> Drop Shadow
Repeat Drop Shadow changing Vertical and Horizontal Offsets to minus 2 (-2)
This is what you should have now
STEP 10
Layers >> New Raster Layer
Maximise image london-bridge.jpg
Edit >> Copy
Minimise image
Edit >> Paste >> Paste into Selection
Layers >> Arrange >> Move Down
Rename this layer "London Bridge"
Do not de-select
STEP 11
Layers >> New Raster Layer
Maximise image Bojnice-castle.jpg
Edit >> Copy
Minimise image
Edit >> Paste >> Paste into Selection
Re-name this layer "Bojnice Castle"
Do not de-select
STEP 12
Layers >> New Raster Layer
Maximise image red-square.jpg
Edit >> Copy
Minimse image
Edit >> Paste >> Paste into Selection
Re-name this layer "Red Square"
Selections >> Select None
NOW TO MAKE THE 'PAGE TURN' ANIMATION
STEP 13
In the Layer Palette highlight "London Bridge"
Edit >> Copy
File >> Jasc Software Products >> Launch Animation Shop (AS)
Edit >> Paste >> Paste as New Animation
Back to PSP
STEP 14
In the Layer Palette highlight "Bojnice Castle"
Edit >> Copy
Over to AS
Edit >> Paste >> After Current Frame
Back to PSP
STEP 15
In the Layer Palette highlight "Red Square"
Edit >> Copy
Over to AS
Edit >> Paste >> After Current Frame
STEP 16
Staying in AS
Select Frame 1 (F1)
Edit >> Copy
Select Frame 3 (F3)
Edit >> Paste >> After Current Frame
This is what you should have now
STEP 17
Select Frame 1 (F1)
Effects >> Insert Image Transition
Select 'Page Turn' from the dropdown menu
Make Transition Length = 2.0
Frames per second (fps)= 4
Transition contains a total of 8 frames
Don't click OK yet
First click on the 'Customize' button to customize the page curl
Select and delete Frame 10 (F10)
STEP 18
Select Frame 9 (F9)
Effects >> Insert Image Transition
Settings as in STEP 17
Select and delete Frame 18 (F18)
STEP 19
Select Frame 17 (F17)
Effects >> Insert Image Transition
Select and delete Frame 26 (F26)
You now have a total of 25 frames for Animation 1
STEP 20
Back to PSP
In the Layer Palette highlight the Merged layer
Edit >> Copy
Over to AS
Edit >> Paste >> As New Animation
STEP 21
Depress your CTRL key and press the letter L (Upper Case) 24 times
You can check the # of frames at the bottom right of your screen

You now have a total of 25 frames for Animation 2
STEP 22
Activate Animation 1
Edit >> Go to Frame
Change the Frame Number to "1"
Edit >> Select All
Edit >> Copy
STEP 23
Activate Animation 2
Edit >> Go to Frame
Change the Frame Number to "1"
Edit >> Select All
Edit >> Paste >> Into Selected Frame
Position image in the rectangle making sure there are no gaps
Click left mouse button
If you don't position it correctly the first time
undo and try again
STEP 24
Animation >> Frame Properties
Change the Display Time to 20
STEP 25
Animation >> Animation Properties
STEP 26
Resize animation if desired
Save as a gif
